    Had something strange happen to me while exploring a new area. Driving on logging/forest roads, I crossed a small wooden bridge and heard this metal clanging sound (like a metal band...not solid metal or grinding) as each axle crossed the bridge. Couldn't quite pinpoint what it was or where it was coming from. Then a moment later as hit some bumps, I heard it again, but it was only coming from the rear this time. I was like WTF is that? I slowed down to try and focus on what conditions were causing it. I hit some bumps and nothing. Then I hit a dip and when my suspension compressed/extended I would hear it again. My first thought was "$#%& great.....I busted a brand new 5100". Then reason took over and I recalled how I first heard it. I pulled over and crawled under my truck and couldn't see anything, I stood in my bed and jumped to flex the suspension and nothing. Got back in and drove some more and could still hear it...that same light metal tinging sound. And then it just stopped after another mile or so (only going 15 mph). I pulled over and looked underneath and nothing was out of place, jumped in the bed and couldn't recreate.

    I'm guessing that a piece of metal banding (when I crossed that bridge) flipped up and got caught somewhere and was rubbing when I would flex slightly. Anyway, it's not done it since and everything looks & feels fine. Had me stumped for about an hour.

    When I say bridge - it's one like this.
