I know that the 2nd gen and 3rd gen suspension components are somewhat interchangeable, but most of what I have read about front suspension swaps between 2nd and 3rd gens involved swapping the shocks and springs together. What I need to know is, can I use a 2nd gen shock absorber with a 3rd gen spring? I ask only because I know the 3rd gen spring is longer.
