I have been detailing cars since I was 15. I had a business for 3 years, closed shop when I went to work for the local Govt. I retired but maintained some clients cars. A good polish and sealant with Teflon is what I have used and still do. I have done a few ceramic coatings when customers have supplied the product. Its not worth it imo, I can get the same results in the finish and longevity. I get about $250 to $400 depending on the size of the vehicle and what types of paint correction needs to be done. We watched a ceramic coating last about 8 months, with car washing every weekend and also we saw no benefit on how easy it was to wash. I have kept this vehicle near showroom condition for 11 years. I don't see the benefits of the product, just my thoughts.

You can usually go to the major brands websites and they will have a list of certified shops that have access to their pro lines.

    Carpro
    Opticarcare
    Gyeon Quartz
    Gtechniq
    Modesta

There are hundred of other brands but those are some of the bigger networks.

Consumer grade ceramic coating is totally different to professional grade....unless your customer had some?? What coating were given to you to install.

If you had Modesto or ceramic pro 9h it might change your opinion. The only consumer grade coating I would put on my cars would be cquartz 3.0 uk.

It was from another company about an hour and a half away from me, sold it to me for a old customer that relocated to my area. I have done a few before, very familiar with it. However I not sold. We have done a half hood comparison of the two products and didn't see that big of a difference to warrant the price.

I've seen tons of videos explaining why it's a waste of money. Go on YouTube for some convincing. I was gonna do my range rover but decided against it. Watch the videos, some are very sciencey

There are pros and cons to Ceramic coatings. They generally offer better protection, gloss and longevity. Some would argue the gloss sometimes looks "artificial".

Cons would be the required paint prep you have to do or pay to have someone else do which can get costly as noted prior in this thread. It is generally more difficult to apply and the curing can take up to a week without IR lamps which makes it impractical for people without a garage.

For me, I like ceramic coatings on my vehicles because I'm gone for 3-4 months at a time and they do not get touched/washed at all.

All the money goes towards prepping a car....really the most difficult part. Applying the coating is easy. However if you think it’s not worth go with it. I’ve only had positive experience. My coating was only 700.00 for my truck.
