Snow removal without scratching paint?

    So we're right up on winter season...some places already snowing, and this means time to remove snow on early mornings...YAY!! :'( I've got a new truck and I've been very diligent with cleaning and detailing it. That being said, does anyone know any type of snow brush/broom or any other method to remove snow without scratching the paint surface. I found this thing called the SnoBrum https://www.amazon.com/SnoBrum-Push...65_QL70&qid=1383304556&ref_=mp_s_a_1_2&sr=8-2. Someone also mentioned wrapping a normal snowbrush with a microfiber cloth. Any other ideas/products/suggestions?

    We use the snobrum at work. Personaly i prefer my method. I park in my garage, when i can, so i dont have to brush snow. If i cant i use a leaf blower.

    Yea that's ideal. Unfortunately I still live in an apartment with an uncovered parking lot :(

    I use those at work (I work at car dealership) They do really well. If used properly they dont scratch. Make sure you dont put the head of it on the ground. Youll pick up sand/small rocks and scratch your paint pretty good. I did buy myself one because they work quickly and well.

    Snow brooms work well. A few tips, though:

    1) Don't let it rattle around in the footwell of your truck, or set it on the ground, because it'll pick up grit and scratch your paint.
    2) Make sure your truck is clean BEFORE it snows. Any sand/grit that's on your paint before it snows will scratch your paint just as fast as grit on the snow broom itself, because when you push the snow off it'll drag that sand with it.
    3) Put a good coat of wax on the truck now, before it gets too cold.

    Bonus) Rain-x your windows, windshield, mirrors, and headlights. The concentrated stuff in the little yellow bottle. It won't help your paint any, but it makes scraping ice off a LOT easier.

    Honestly all forms of snow removal are going to swirl your paint.
    Only push snow off if its absolutely needed.

    The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
    Larry from Ammo NYC is an absolute amazing resource to learn from. The guy is over the top when it comes to doing things the right way. Here's how he does snow removal, with a leaf blower. This could never work for someone who lives in an area where it snows with any regularity. Or for that matter, anyone with neighbors or a wife, because I'm pretty sure mine would think I've gone insane if they saw me doing it this way.

    The Sno-Brum is the only way to go. We use them in the hot tub industry too. Brush snow off hot tub covers (vinyl) without tearing them up.

    This is absolutely correct. Look at it this way. No matter what you drag across your paint, at some level, it's marring that paint. Those who say the Snow Brum doesn't mar just haven't looked close enough or used one often enough.

    Best is to have a good coat of sealant and wax down before winter and let the snow just melt and bead off. Like others have said, you get the swirls when you mix dirt and and kind of rubbing acainst the paint.

    I take mine to a spray car wash once a week in winter to spray off all dirt and crud from the undercarriage
