    Eh, the only thing that needs to be in sight is the head unit, and maybe a small speaker. There's so many ways to mount them. The radio is under the seat. With the wires hidden for a clean install, it doesn't bother me. I had A LOT more room in my old F150 Supercrew. The 500 Watt CB isn't going in this truck. Way too big! Have a handheld, and swap the antenna to use it.

    Cut a piece of cardboard or something to the size of the radio you're looking at, and place it different places in the cab. You might find somewhere that doesn't bug you too much. Play around with it.

    I had one in my last truck coupled with a firestik, mounted and tuned properly. Worked great fo close th 15 years and I loved the compactness.
