2018 stereo problems

Before i take it into the dealership, is/has anyone had issues with their stereo freezing? I have less than 2000 miles on my truck and multiple ines I've had the stereo freeze on me typically at start up then I restart the stereo and it does okay. Yesterday it happened to me multiple times.

 

It happens to me from time to time. I’ve noticed that it mainly will do it if I’m connected to Bluetooth

 

I have not had it happen in my Taco (< 1000 mi). In my Ford Escape it would do it randomly when Bluetooth was connected. I would have Spotify from my phone, get out of the car, and then when I got back in the display would be black and no controls would work. I did not find any other solution than turning off-on. I was out of warranty so did not do anything about it. Have you updated firmware?

 

8k on mine w/ zero issues... let the dealer fix er.

 

Mines done it several times now. Ran it by the dealer when they did my transmission update and they couldn’t do anything about it. It’ll be something you just deal with.

 

It’s an entune issue. My 15 did it also.

 

There is an audio system update available. I don't know if this will help, but it might be worth a try. I did it on my 2017 and it didn't brick the head unit.

While that version date seems old, the OTA updates do not seem to fully update the system. It updated mine (Entune Premium) and fixed some issues.
