I think that white is warmer that super white. Maybe the coatings are responsible for that but I sense it's the actual paint color. I'll bet you pay extra for the body shop to match that should you have a minor fender bender.

I've worked with the Toyota engineers at the Tahara plant. I learned a few things.

 

Maybe. The reason Super White isn't (or wasn't, my 2008 isn't at least) clear coated is that the clear tends to take on a yellow tint, so perhaps that's intentional with the special white.

Even when some people are proven wrong they still can’t admit that they’re wrong and have to throw jabs. Btw I love white Tacoma’s but the no 2nd stage clear would be a deal breaker.

 

Super White does not get a "clear coat" over the base paint. It gets an enhancement like clear coating mixed in with the single stage paint and it is all shot at the same time. however, even that isn't a true clear coating. they call this method a "mid clear" coating. which is also false. to properly clear coat something it has to be applied OVER the base coat. not mixed into the paint and shot all at once.

on the OP's original post though, I would gladly pay that for the Blizzard White Pearl paint if it had been an option on my truck. my wife's Lexus RC is basically that color and it looks great.

100% agree. Any truck in Blizzard white is a beauty.

 

For $244 they can shove those floor and trunk mats where the sun don’t shine!!! Ripoff city!!!
