Entune Navigation: City as a Destination?

Is it really not possible for the system to navigate you to a city outside of your current state without giving an address?

I see that you can search for "point near city center" but this is restricted, from what I can see, to the state you are currently driving in.

If I want to route to say Helena, MT from AZ I first need to find and address in Helena and enter that rather than just entering Helena, MT as the destination as I would on my Garmin GPS.

Am I missing another method that you allows one to get directions to a city without being in that sate or having enter an address?

 

Don't have a direct answer for you, but if it won't let you do what you want just enter 100 Main Street as the address. Works for most cities.

 

It does on a 4Runner...

Just use the map and mark the city...requires no entry other than pointing at it.

 

Did you try the voice feature? Try asking it to navigate to Helena Montana.

 

May I ask why one would drive all the way from AZ to a town in MT without need of an address? Seems odd. lol

Just to get a rough idea of how long it would take to get there. Useful if you are trying to decide on a place to go because of time/distance.

 

Just use google maps then. Could have figured out the distance in about the time it takes to even hit the new thread button.

 

Bump because I could totally have used a feature like what you’re asking for. I didn’t think of just touching the city on the map and then navigating to it, but I’m not sure that would have worked. The city I was looking for was tiny and likely would not have been labeled on the map. It seems like only the major cities are marked.
