So my "distance until empty" countdown will not go over 313miles until empty. That is the absolute highest it will go. After filling up I will drive back and forth to work which is 24 miles total and it will read 300 miles until empty, that just doesn't add up!

Ever since I pulled a trailer with a jeep on it from NY to TN and back in March it dropped down to about 220 MTE when filling up probably because I was getting 10-12mpg towing 6000lbs. Since then I've put 7000 miles on the truck and typically average about 20-21mpg combined with various light loads/commuting. Is there any way to reset this so it will reflect approximately 400 miles until empty?

    Thanks!

Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes, last time I had my battery out it reset the DTE.

That's because your "distance to empty" is always changing so it will never be accurate. It works by "sampling" at a rate of "X" times a minute, comparing it against the "average" in your records (let's say 1000 records) and dropping the oldest record and adding the newest one. This way, it takes a long time to make any significant change.
Imagine if it truly was instant and accurate... Going down a hill you will have 1000 miles until empty. Going up a hill you will have 100 miles until empty, based on fuel burn at that exact instant.
So, while it's not perfect, it gives you a decent look at miles until empty.

Go to the ECO page on your Entune screen and you can do a total reset. You will lose all of your historical data though.

I don't pay that no nevermind anyways.

I just fill up when the gas gauge needle says 1/4 left in Tank.

It seems the more technology that comes out in the new vehicles,
    the more problems they cause.

I too, use the fuel gauge. When it says I'm getting low, I add gas to the tank.
    So far so good.

Its not bad for road trips when you're planning your next fuel/food/sightseeing stop. You can get a general idea of which exit or town you'll need to stop at without doing any math in your head.

I fill up every Saturday morning, whether I need it or not. Stop down at the local gas station for a cup of coffee, an hour or so to BS with a few of the locals, and top off my tank.

My ‘16 always fills to 385 DTE, and at zero probably has 1.5 gallons remaining.
