Just got this Baofeng UV-5R dual band radio like $30.

Works on vhf, uhf, frs, gmrs, and murs frequencies. Hopefully I should be able to communicate now, since my cb seems to not work that well.

This thing is identical to the one rugged radios sells for $85 (https://www.ruggedradios.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1274). Just needs to be programmed using free software.

Idk if you already have a cable to connect it to a computer, but he lists one in first video.

I bought the cable for like $8 on Amazon downloaded CHIRP and the usb to serial driver. My friend actually had the rugged radio version and he was able to get me a pdf file with all of their pre-programmed frequencies, this was kind of the key part of it for me. Their list included frequencies for channel 1-16 on the FRS radios a lot of guys are using.
