Hi Everyone, Been a Tacoma owner for two years. Bought it new in 2016, love it. Long story short I told myself I was going to keep it stock on account I figured I would never be done adding mods to it. Well here I am eating my words. I have had the OEM bolt-on plastic bed liner on it since buying it in April of 2016.

Is this type of plastic bed liner known for holding water in and rusting the bed? I'm going to remove it to have Line X bed liner applied and I'm afraid of what I'm going to find under the plastic.

That is a composite bed if you remove it you are removing the bed and will find nothing under it.

That is the bed, not a bed liner.
    The bed itself is composite.

Toyota should inform their salesman. When I traded my ‘12 in, salesmen said good job on the bed liner. I informed him it was the bed, and he argued with me for a few until I had him look in the wheel well.

Yep. Salesman are horrible. I knew more about the Tacoma that I was buying than the salesman, but atleast he acknowledged it. Once in awhile you will find a salesperson that are actually into cars and trucks and will know their stuff.
