    Hey everyone-

I ordered the Wheeler's 3 Leaf AAL. In looking up some install threads, seems some people had to cut off the factory clamp to get it all to fit. Is this in the instructions? I will be having this installed, so wouldn't want the installer to F it up or not understand it. If this is an issue, is there a 3 Leaf AAL out there that doesn't require grinding / cutting?

Not to divert from the question but how much is someone charging to do that install?

No idea yet lol. Haven't started quoting yet... just ordered the parts. Some TW members on here said they could do it so I might go that route. Hoping others can chime in here. Wheeler's told me they can't say, as each truck could be different depending on where the spring was manufactured. So I guess the question is anyone on 2018 off roads have to cut/hack this install?

Almost all of the vendors use the same 3 leaf pack from the same manufacturer, they’re just rebranded (Icon) or sold under the vendor brand name.

So, most likely they’re all requiring the same things, and no vendor is going to be black and white about fitment.

I guess I'll just need to let the installer know. I saw this on smitty's thread for the 6112/5160 and AAL where he had to cut on his 3rd gen.

Found this on a youtube (robdaman) video in the comments: "The manufacturer making all of the 3 leaf AAL packs has also been changing the designs around to accommodate the TSB springs and possibly other reasons as well. These changes have made the AAL kit so that most won't have to cut any spring retainers anymore, however depending on which version of TSB packs you have you will have to cut the retainers off of your overload spring. Additionally also depending on which TSB pack you have, the overload spring will contact the AAL retainer rivet head under heavy loads. "

Did you have to cut the stock retaining clamp on your leaf pack for the AAL install? And I'm most likely joining up with some guys on here in my area that offered to do it with me and show me the ropes. I'll be paying them, but will be a good learning experience.
