    I have a 1997 Tacoma regular cab. I’ve got 2 questions.
Does anyone know how long of nerf bars I should be looking for?
Also, anyone know where I can buy them for cheap? I can only find them for ~$200. This is the cheapest one I’ve found so far.

Do you want just a step, or are you wanting some sort of protection for off-roading?

Because that is a VERY important distinction.

That said, teh factory running boards I've seen flex under my not that fat ass, so if you're a bigger guy, expect them to flex.

With that in mind, I have 4XInnovations rock sliders (the kind that will hold the full vehicle weight/bashing into rocks, etc...), and I paid $260. So for an extra $60 you get something that can take a serious beating (need to be welded to frame, though).

If you're just looking for cheap nerf bars, try these...

Ah! I didn't think about making that distinction, sorry haha. I'm just looking for a step for getting in to make it that much easier for my better half to get into the truck without jumping :) She's a little vertically challenged. Currently 200# and trying to get that weight to go down some more. I'm ok with a little bending haha.

Yeah, finding the regular cab length has been the hardest thing. Been looking at nearby pick and pulls, funny enough I had one tell me that they had a really hard time getting 1st gen toyota's cuz it costs them too when they bid for them. :notsure:

If your only looking for a simple step perhaps someone local can make and install them for a reasonable price

maybe post in your regional thread
