I have a 2015 Entune w/ Nav and I dock my iPhone in a cradle wired to the OEM USB port on the dash. For years I have been able to call up any app, video or stream and the audio would play through the system normally. A month ago this changed.

No matter what media I choose to play my music library will start playing the first song and there’s no way to prevent this. I close the apps, undock the iPhone, reboot everything, and every time I play anything with audio in it the media will pause and the music will start. If I stop the music and try again it will start right back up.

I bought the OE185A SD card update and installed it successfully hoping it might help, but I’m still stuck.

Bluetooth works fine and streams whatever I choose but the USB connection does not. I prefer the USB connection because it’s full fidelity and it charges the iPhone while docked.

Any ideas or suggestion to fix this are welcomed??!?!?!? Maybe time to send the Entune deck to the for sale forum.

Almost everytime I hop in my truck whether its usb or bluetooth audio, it goes to the same f'n random song in my library. And it happens about every other iPhone software update.

Either you just deal with it or swap out the headunit.

I think this was due to an Apple update. For me (2015 with Entune, basic, no apps) and iPhone 7+. It used to play whatever was last playing when you plugged it into the vehicle. If I were watching YouTube, it would start playing that (basically the “Now playing” on the iPhone). Now, Apple seems to kill whatever hasn’t been playing for like 5 minutes and once plugged into the vehicle, it sends a “play” command and starts the Music app. Older iOS used to keep the last playing app and start it when a “play” command was given. I’m not sure if this started in iOS 10 or 11 (I’m currently running iOS 12 beta 3 and it still does it, so the future looks bleak).

For me, I’ve gotten into the habit of opening Pandora on my phone as I unlock my truck, let it start playing a song, plug it into the truck and then start the truck. If you’re already playing something, the radio just takes over. It’s crude and I’m thinking of upgrading radios because of this.

It's weird, b/c the issue seems to mostly be localized to You Tube media. I was streaming audio from a Live Music app just fine today. The last update a few days ago stated that a fix was included for some USB devices not playing in car audio correctly, but the issue persists for me also. I hate to get a $1000 Nav unit installed to solve the problem when Toyota should really be more compatible with it's updating also, maybe one will come over bluetooth soon.

Looking for help: I have a 2018 Tacoma and a 128 GB USB with over 3200 song on it. When I plug it in it will only play the first 450 songs, only those in which the artist have names starting with A or B (ex: Allman Brothers, Bee Gees, etc.) and no other songs- any idea why?
