Thanks it's been serving me well. In case you're thinking about doing something similar, I would recommend making the platform just a tad higher - like 3 inches or so. I installed it without the Bedrug in, and when I first got in it to sleep (with the Bedrug installed) I realized that a bit more room under the platform would be nice. I'll be attaching something ~3" to the bottom.

Great Build ! I am currently working on a camper with the same sort of system. My idea was to design the bed sliders so that you can bring them like half way out. Sit down, Lie down and slide em back in. what was the purpose of your bed sliders ? and what thickness of 1" square tubing did you use ? thanks in advance.

Yes, got a custom cut slab of 4" foam from a local upholsterer who was running a sale. Wife found a zip-up mattress liner for it, and a large tote bag that we roll it up an stick it into for storage in the garage. I just lay it on top of my bed mat, and a Tejon 0F double sleeping bag on top of that. Was quite comfortable on the recent trip to the mountains.

Not a 2nd Gen, but same concept.... Test fitting everything in the driveway. Still need to paint the platform.

Set up and tear down takes less than 5 minutes each. If moving from one location to another I can just store the tent folded on top of the platform without completely putting it away in the storage bag.

Enough room on top of the sleeping platform to put my chairs and tables (with the cover down). They come out at camp anyway and other items can be stored in bins under the platform without having to remove them to set up the tent.

Plenty of room to sleep two, however, the wife does not like tent camping so this should be great for solo camping. I have slept in the tent on the bed floor but had to take everything out of the bed. Found this thread and said to myself .... a new project. Thanks for providing the inspiration.

I have a bad back and bad knees, so it is hard to get myself up off the ground. This will allow me sit up with my feet on the truck bed and then stand up.

This was my attempt at a tent platform. I'm intrigued with the idea of rooftop tents, but not the cost. I figured I had a tent already.

The plywood has a piano hinge so that it can be folded away in the bed and unfolded for the 5'x7' tent. I doubled the amount of brackets under the tonneau cover rails to support the weight.

Everything is stored under the tonneau cover.

I don't camp very often, so I didn't want the truck to be permanently modified. This project was more of an experiment than anything else.

I just built this thing up as a solution to get my spares and tools out of the truck. Trying to free up some space for the doggos. I took a bunch of ideas from this thread and kinda mashed some stuff together. The truck doesn't have a shell so I sealed all the wood with deck sealer and black silicone caulking, then painted it flat black to match the bed a bit more. I cheaped out on drawer slides in place of 2x2 wood on wood slides for now. I wanted to be able to sleep on it on solo trips without the wife. I also needed to have room for bins and my mountain bike on trips so I built it for half of the bed. I still need to do some finishing stuff like put a face on the drawer and a lock but I'm headed out for a 3 day trip this weekend and wanted to give it a test.

Nice, if the drawer is hard to move you can put some transfer bearings in the bottom to let it roll on the bed ribs. They're cheap and work well.

I'm currently restoring my 06 Tacoma AC with the intention of adding a new to me A.R.E. cap and will be using these as a bed leveling/foam padding to use for sleeping when weather is not optimum....I have purchased these:
9HORN Puzzle Exercise Mat/Protective Flooring Mats with EVA Foam Interlocking Tiles and Edge Pieces Suitable for Gym Equipment, Yoga, Surface Protection (Gray, 12sqf) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZ1FSYL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_VOl1BbRY244GM

I purchased 2 stacks and it gives enough for the entire floor area.. after some cutting it should be fine ...I may even cover to with a piece of outdoor carpet..
Not sure if this was your intended use but I figured I'd send along what I had in my mind..

I know people have brought this Ikea mattress up before, but it not very often. I just picked it up today and it fits perfectly, is comfortable, the top 3rd folds and the cover comes off to wash.
I'm pretty happy, I think I will prefer it to blow up sleeping pads.

Not me. Old log cabin in the mountains. Simple low cost life. But, some things are worth the cost. The '13 Tacoma.
But, what am I going to get for a '95 T100? Not enough to sell it.
