Iphone 6s and entune, texting

Dealer told me my 6s wouldn't work properly with the premium entune system. So far he has been right, can't text or use the mic on my phone through entune. Any fixes or work arounds? Just payed the phone off, not reay for an upgrade for a couple years really..

 

I have a plain 6. It is a PIA sometimes It will turn on and not do anything. I hit the cancel on the wheel and start over. Usually on the second try it will read text and let me reply. Most dealers don’t know squat about Entune. Did you go into settings and allow Notifacation’s .

If you’re trying to text (and assuming you’ve successfully at least linked your phone to the truck) you can use Siri to voice-to-text by holding down the little telephone button on your steering wheel.

Not sure if that answers your question, exactly, definitely not texting through etune, but it works for me

Yeah, I’ve got a SE which I love and won’t change until SE 2 is out. It’s been workin flawlessly.

I couldn’t get my text messages to work on my 2016 I just bought.
I read the manual and couldn’t figure it out so I went to YouTube and searched.
I found the same thing, when I enabled notifications it works now.

 

Where do you enable notifications?

 

Does your 5s still work and were you actually able to send texts or just have the head unit read them out loud?

I recently updated my 5s from 10.3.3 which I could only read text on the screen, not send to ios12.01 and now text messages don't show on the screen or even get announced. It looks like entune is dropping iPhone 5s support.

I know it’s not supported, but it still works, when updated your phone it automatically turned off notifications, go to settings, Bluetooth, click on car accessories which should be ur truck, click on info icon to the right and enable “show notifications “ and entune will read your texts and when you stop you can read them. Hope that helps.

 

When I got in it yesterday the message reading feature was working like it used to, which is great.
Here's the real oddball things:
1-The four phone numbers I had stored on the hu's home screen were deleted from the screen.
2-Some of my saved radio stations were gone and in a random order. Over written by the default block of satellite radio numbers.

I'm sure that the radio station info is stored in the hu and not at all related to the phone...definitely weird and annoying.
