pancake syrup and butter is how i always eat cornbread! it actually went well on it. unless you do a pot of beans, then butter it and laddle the beans n broth on it.

Nope i’ve had chilli like that several times we call it a chilli bake. Never butter or syrup though. Sometimes mix cheddar and chillis into the corn bread batter

All this food talk i always remember when i was young. grand parents had a real mtn. farm. spring house, smoke house, cellar dug in the bank and even an ice house. buckets of spring water and cows milk in the pantry, homemade butter and bread. grandmas mac n chesse was Tops.she had a huge block of sharp cheddar. with fresh milk and cheese it baked up awsome. and her canned deer meat in a cast skillet with gravy made with fresh milk was killer!!but her homemade lye soap was awful when it was time to wash up. it would scrub ur damn skin off!

Remember any time you were sick the solution was simple, castor oil! or an Ass beaten! Those two remedies fixed EVERYTHING!!!

my grandad was a good man of few words. i got the razor strap or a birch switch many times. especially after i got my first BB gun.I learned real quick dont shoot windows in the farm buildings and never shoot the chickens in the yard. did that only once that bird jumped 10 ft in the air then i saw grandad on the porch.he skinned my ass and never spoke a word.

What do you think Granddad would have said to today's "safe place" generation?
