I looked around the interwebs for a while and found one for $150 on eBay. Works like a dream and it installs in about 3 minutes. Brand new from Toyota, you're going to pay about $250, I believe.

They are all good trucks,,, but its like picking out a silk tie vs a clip on. It comes down to what look you want and what effort you want to put in to get it.. The PRO gave me the look and the options I wanted all while staying under warranty so it fit for me.

I’m going to say that the clip on is the TRD pro.

You want the look of a beautiful, self tied, silk tie, but you don’t want to put the work in of doing it yourself, so you settle for a clip on.

PRO = well built capable off-road vehicle under factory warranty, already factory built to be a great offroad performer.
(there is still the ability to do every mod you would with a OR or Sport or SR5 or even an SR... CAUTION... you will get flamed on TW for touching the suspension and will have to field a barrage of "your stupid Bro, You should a bought an OR" comments but it is an internet forum so take those at face value)

Off Road, Sport, SR5 or even an SR (4x4s) = well built capable off-road vehicles under factory warranty, cheaper to own up front if you are going to do a bunch of mods, new suspension etc.

It is your choice, everyone has an opinion and a lot (if not most) of them are worth nothing to anyone but the guy/gal giving it...

Build a truck on www.toyota.com and see what fits your fancy. If you end up liking all of the PRO features and love the "exclusive color" then a pro is your bag, If you don't care about the add ons and want a plain jane MGM truck to build into a offroad monster... Maybe a SR5, OR or Sport will fit the bill.

All of our "opinions" are based on our wants and needs.

What do YOU want/need what makes up YOUR dream truck??

For all of the haters from the your wasting money modding a PRO camp, Who cares? it's not YOUR money... I have seen people buy a $300,000 Porsche and rip out all the incredibly engineered suspension and install new stuff... It is all about what YOU want to do. Don't hate because people think differently than you, embrace the creativity and outside the box thinking.

You mean a silk clip on sourced from the finest spiders. While the OffRoad I would compare to a tie bought at Walmart. You need to hide it under a decent suit to distract people knowing that you settled on buying a cheap tie.

I don’t think its about price here.

A TRDOR is a little less than the TRDbro. Put that extra money into suspension thats better than the Fox (which isnt hard to do) and youre in.

There’s something more special about someone who buys a fast car and makes it faster, than someone who buys a Lamborghini. One is a show off, one isn’t.

Usually when one decides to upgrade a car, it's for the sole reason of showing it off. Either for looks or performance. (Suspension isn't the only thing the Pro adds to the package over a stock OffRoad)

That 18 looks very nice, I haven't had mine a week yet and I am looking at options to do that. Holding off on tires size until I decide what to do.

I got the Tacoma TRD OR because the 4runner TRD OR was too expensive.

4 runner Pros don't look as good to me, but the Tacoma Pro looks better than than the TRD OR.

If I follow your analogy, the Tacoma OR is a cheap tie on a cheap suit, and the Tacoma Pro is a decent tie on a cheap suit to a Raptor.

Hmm. Not sure I would agree.

Bottom line is the Pro is not special anywhere that would have made it matter to me like engine or 4runner seats.

The Blue is SICK though. I just could not get a Blue truck like that because I have a 1999 Z3 M in a similar color.
