So throwing a S/C on a higher mileage motor is a good or bad idea? I still have a while to pay off the truck and I don't want to get rid of it but I'd love to S/C it and get that rush when merging with or passing traffic! Has anyone on here done the install themselves or does it have to be done by a Toyota Tech?

If you're worried about it somehow breaking the motor: what would be the difference compared to a high mileage motor where a S/C's been on since (almost) new?

If you're worried about investing so much in an old truck: how high are the miles? If still under 100k, I think it's safe to say Toyota motors are good for 200K+ with good care. So yeah, it's that much closer to being 'worn out', but there's still a lot of good life left in it yet!

The problems that have lead me to dump the high miles cars I loved in the past has not been the motors: it was the mounting accumulation of butt-biting electrical and accessory problems. Just an observation...
