Just had Bilstein 5100’s installed by the local shop & now I hear a pop at random times while driving...sometimes it pops while breaking & other times just while driving down the road.

All suspension parts have been checked & look good.

Any ideas on what the popping could be?

Do you have any pictures of the suspension? A lot of people have installed the lower spring perch upside down, which can keep the spring from seating properly.

Sway bar links or were these relocated forward a bit? Sometimes the new angle could cause this popping noise in the sway link joints or they sway bar could be making contact on the spring.

Thank You both for responding! The installer mentioned that the upper control arm bolt wasn’t tight (said he didn’t know why they would have touched that) and haven’t heard the pop happen since that was done about an hour to go.

He also tightened the sway bar link.

Hope problem solved now. If an alignment was done for you-hopefully those lower control arm cam bolts got torqued down properly-I think 130 ft lbs. Kept getting pops on my FJ, cam bolts not torqued right.
