    How does one adjust the tie rods to the point they are trying to pull out of the steering rack? What I'm picturing in my head would require cutting the inner so short it would cause the outer to bind against the rack.....or having toe so out of spec it would make a vehicle undrivable.

    Just my observation based on the symptoms I was experiencing. Honestly, I could be wrong. It felt like the tech was fighting the tight uniballs so the toe was in fact off (wide) but he was fudging it enough to read in spec. One of the things I was also getting was that the steering wheel wouldn’t return to center after making a turn. At least not without some input from me. Which could’ve been either the tight uniballs or toe being out of spec.
    Again, I don’t know this for a fact, I’m making a conclusion based on the totality of what I was experiencing.
    If I knew more about the subject, I’d be doing alignments myself at home to remove any doubt.
