Ha...that’s a starter solenoid for a Ford 351 or a glow plug relay for a 7.3. Always on the shelf at a parts store if you ever need another one.

Biggest thing(s) I need to see was (1) if Warn would cover it under warranty and (2) confirmation of a part number.

Plus, like we discussed by your place, part stores are usually more expensive.

Good to know for the future though if I'm out on the road and need one.

    :woot:

If you never want to mess with the solenoid again then a White-Rodgers 586-902 is the ticket.

Today is gonna suck. Gym right now. Going home to wash and wax the truck. Then, degrease and fluid film the undercarriage.

Tonight, guys night at twin peaks and K1 go karts.

Started around 9:30/10 and just finished. Roughly 3 hours total. It's pretty nice out. 47 degrees and sunny as hell.

    - wash
    - wax
    - another vacuum
    - Windex on the inside
    - degrease the undercarriage
    - fluid film the undercarriage

    Exhausted. :bananadead:

During (wax curing and drying and degreaser doing its thing)

Hate cleaning, but it's a must here for winter survival. Have to admit, she does clean up pretty well and shines like a diamond in a goat's ass. Rained on and off the whole day yesterday, so the wax cured and she had some nice ass beads on her.

In the spirit of maintaining and prolonging the life of Caitlyn, I picked I placed an order with Adam's polishes.

After it was all said and done, I got about 50% OFF the original price of the kit. Not bad.

Can anyone recommend some good cut and buff products?

    Thanks dude.

I have to check what pads came with my buffing wheel my brother got me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I need to see what colors in that do what. This past weekend I just did the old school wax method:

Came out good, but I need have some things that need a bit more persuasion. Having an aftermarket front and rear bumper with the bedsides cut make the whole job quicker than a stock truck, but the roof is what sucks. Navigating the roof rack while being too lazy to remove the crossbars is a tedious thing. Makes me thing of going vinyl on the roof.

    Yes!

The stock horns are rated at 110db. The supertones I have are rated at 118db. However, the pinch is MUCH higher (for cabin penetration) and grabs the attention of people and stops them dead in their tracks.

Thinking about some hornblasters, but I keep going back and forth on them.

Did you just swap them with the factory wire or did you wire them into the battery? That might not be the right way but I read somewhere that you can get something to make the HELLAs louder.

You need to wire them to the battery with a relay- you use the factory horn to trigger the relay (your "switch")

I used the factory wiring, I believe. I followed the directions in the packaging. I believe they have you re-use the factory harness, but with a relay.

If you want something louder on a budget, caddy horns are probably what you want.

This weekend, I used Nu Finish, and typically do. I think I have some Chemical Brothers buttery wax, but I can't remember if that was a dream last night or if I actually do. I need to check. Chem Bros typically I will use in the summertime, personally.

I have the sharptones (yellow ones) and they are a good bit louder, and a much more compelling pitch. Deer seem to really despise them, when they wouldn't even look up with the factory horns.

But when I really want somebody to MOVE, I nerf them with a 100W airhorn like they stock in police cars. That angry ass ERRRR...ERRRR sound really gets them going.
