Yes sir. I bought the 2010 new. And it's just short of 300k miles. It still runs like a top so I have a hard time getting rid of it.

The 2015...the one in the pic..I picked up a few months ago from a dude in clayton who we were trapping hogs off of. I saw his truck and complimented him on it. Said he hated it and wanted to sell it because he doesn't think theres a better vehicle made than mid 1990s Grand Cherokee. Told him to holler at me if he wanted to sell. 2 weeks later I owned it.

Mostly use it for road trips and doing some offroad trails. It's only got about 70k on it so I'm trying to make it last.

That’s funny! Not sure I follow his logic on that one. What did he hate about it?

No idea. He didnt go into that. I ain't never met nobody like that guy tho. He had some strange habits tho. Wouldnt ever look anyone in the eye during conversation. Ate fried chicken and his dinner rolls with a knife and fork. And that was after he laid down about 30 napkins on the table before sitting down. Super nice dude but had some quirks!

So what kind of trails does everyone like doing? Dirt backroads? Logging/oilfield roads? Or stuff like 3 Stage where axles and U joints explode?

Personally I would prefer if my U joints don’t explode, but more technical than a dirt road. But I’m open to just about anything.

Same here. I used to like doing the roads down at at Atoka wildlife management area. And James Collins has some good ones too.
And just exploring the backroads is fun for me to. Theres a network of dirt roads that run from hartshorne to stringtown that I like to drive. It's mostly just scenic tho.

I'm not down to break shit, that's for sure. My days of that are done.

I like to cruise around and explore, that’s for sure. I haven’t been on any of the WMA’s. I plan to go explore them after hunting season.

High Water Mark or any of the thousands of versions of it is a lot of fun. Just make sure that you will be using legal trails if you decide to download someone's KMZ file form the internet. The forest service has closed some trails and they are not always gated off or marked.

Yeah me too. After bowseason ends we should do a day trip on Collins since close. You can go in at the headquarters by featherston and wind up at robbers cave. I tried it 2 years ago after a big snow and it was some sloppy kind of fun. But I got my ass lost and had to come back. This was before I had a gps.

I've taken Beechton road out of smithville and followed it east and into Arkansas, stopping at the mountain fork on the 3 rivers wma. It's a lot of fun, and wouldn't mind doing it again.

I'm fine with muddy backroads, but also unimproved logging roads that are a little more technical. Forest service and seldom-used WMA type roads primarily.

I need to get a GPS puck for my tablet before I go off exploring the unmapped, but I am 100% down to join up with anyone that has even something mildly interesting.

I got a Samsung Tab-E in a promo a few years back. I know it's got that hybrid cell GPS on it, but in my experience it's unreliable. Just took it to look at some properties with the old folks in AR last summer and it was dropping signal a lot, even on main roads.

I'd like to have something bigger than my phone to run Gaia off of but I hate to buy something just for that purpose.

You should be able to pick up a used or refurbished iPad mini for a decent price. I use a Mini 4 for off road navigation

Just make sure you look for a cellular model so it has the built in GPS receiver

Definitely. Anything other than a ipad that you can recommend? I dont have anything on the apple platform, and backroading would be the only thing it would be used for unless I wanted to piddle on the internet while in a hotel room on the road.

I don't know. I'm sure any android tablet would work, but I'm an Apple user.
