    Hello everyone,

Long time lurker and finally decided to join and chime in.

Long story short, bought my 2018 2wd Taco in April of this year. Since day one there has been a slight vibration from 40-70 when pressing the gas pedal, as soon as you let the pedal go of the gas pedal vibration goes away. There is no vibration with breaking whatsoever and it does it 10/10 times when driving between 40-70. The vibration comes from the floor as a humming/pulsating vibration and it doesn’t travel to the steering wheel and the truck doesn’t shake. I thought it was just me or probably tire breaking period or whatever.

1-Took my truck to the dealer at 5k mile service and brought up the issue of of the vibration along with transmission jerky shifting, clunk noise when coming to a sudden stop, etc. They couldn’t replicate the transmission but the vibration was noted and was asked to return during the week to open a report with TAS.

2- took my dealer a couple of weeks later (vehicle had around 5,700 miles) back to the dealer same vibrating issue which I was asked to do another drive with a mechanic to ensure the vibration was real. Low and behold the mechanic felt the vibration and the report was opened. My vehicle was kept overnight and had transmission and engine ECU updates (transmission feels completely different for the better) tires were balanced and they replaced the drive shaft. I was called since my car was fixed. Drive off the vehicle and the vibration is worse than when I took the vehicle in.

3- truck is going back this Saturday for same vibration. Any input or similar issues? All I could find were the 4wd trucks but none for 2wd Taco. If it has been addressed point me in that direction. My truck doesn’t qualify for TSB and there are no other recalls per the last time the truck was in the dealer this past Saturday.

    Later
    Jon

Welcome aboard bud. Sorry to hear about the issues you are dealing with. Hopefully the collective has some ideas you haven't explored.
    What happens over 70mph?

Smooth as butter! No vibration whatsoever. Which is what I find very weird. In other experiences usually bad tires, wheels, rotors, etc the issue is common through all driving ranges. Could be wrong but though.

Sounds like to me, either it has/had a bad u joint or the drive shaft was out of round. Maybe they fixed it BUT the mechanic didn’t align the drive shaft correctly. Have them look at it again and they will fix it.
