How about fog light bezels. Something that allows alternative style lights to be installed. Rigid pods, Baja designs, etc...

How bout fog lights that let a set of bi xenon lights be mounted so you can low/high beam mounted lower so lifted trucks don’t blind people or have to adjust their lights real low

Good idea! Maybe something oversized or allow two Baja design pods?

OEM hood scoop is inbound thanks to a generous member! I am going to start with that in carbon(and even a dry carbon model to match the matte vinyl) and we'll see how it goes. I also have another surprise in store to compliment it:D
    [IMG]

Yeah that's a possibility. It would have to be for the stock bumper, because so many aftermarkets, no way to keep up with every different manuf. design.

I think that the bezels that surround the radio and instrument cluster would look good in carbon fiber, along with all of the exterior badges and emblems. Even the "TOYOTA" part of the Pro grille would look pretty cool, too

Scoopless carbon hood? I would gladly send you the money right now. :D

Hell I'd even consider a well made FRP layup one.

The hood is probably the biggest weight loss target on the whole vehicle. Bugger is heavy!

i’ll have the rksport fenders and bedsides in a month or so order went in today.

from what i’ve seen fit looks spot on and pretty straight forward.

fyi fenders don’t look like they have additional rise just width.

How much does it weigh? And how much lighter would the carbon one be? I would think you would need to save a couple hundred pounds to make it worthwhile.

If I had to take a guess I would say about 60 pounds for the stock piece and maybe 20 lbs for FRP and 15 for carbon? Understand that those are educated guesses and I could be way off.

As far as when it becomes “worthwhile” it depends on what you are looking for. For instance a 40 pound weight loss would offset a beefy skid plate and then some, and also considerably lower the CG as well as balancing the weight distribution of an unladen truck. Would you notice a gain in acceleration or MPG gain? Probably not. If you did it would be on the order of a fraction of a second to 60 or a tiny MPG gain.

A properly reinforced carbon or FRP hood would not have flapping issues, which some people would say is a selling point in and of itself.
