    They were married 57 yrs.
I can not imagine what she’s going thru. But I can see her pain and try to take it away.
Not sure what you mean by head things off but I’m willing to learn.
They have a very well maintained home and yard. I have hired a property management service for plowing this winter. The old man has a John Deere tractor for this but he also had the time.
Thinking I’ll have them mow and trim also. Hoping mom stays at their home but it’s a high maintenance place to keep it up as dad did.
I got her a medical guardian addded a second hand rail so both sides have a rail to the stairs.
They have awesome neighbors and friends hoping she don’t give up on us!

I am thankful to have had my parents for the major potion of my life. This loss at a younger age would be a lot harder and for longer. It’s why we’re born but the time we have each other for isn’t enough.
I can’t say sorry enough for loss.
I can say my son and daughter and I have great relationships and we tell each other we love you often.
Can’t say it was always been that smooth but it has been and will be.
I had regrets and said I could had been a better son but either way I know he knew we loved him and he knew I know he loved us!

Read this whole thread since it started, and probably 10 times through, since.

As a younger guy (26) i want to thank you all for reminding me to appreciate family more while they have the time. Parents are in their 50s and i hope they have many more years.

I’ll be sure to keep your whole family in my thoughts, mother especially.

First round is on me, til Valhalla

Sorry for your loss. I try to give thanks everyday for my blessings, my folks are first on the list. They passed a long time ago. Good memories make the loss more difficult at the time but it’s what you have to hang onto through your life.

    Thanks bud.
    I’m sure it will.
    I appreciate everyone’s help.
Talking about him and reading dad posts helps me out for sure.
Can’t say how much I feel for those who have been thru this and more.
Thanks everyone for being here for my rough spots.
I have been focusing on my mom and keep my emotions in check for her.
She still breaks down when she talks about him.

Crap never thought I’d be here using an Internet forum pouring my heart out.

    You’ve all been amazing!

Oh there will be some mods all right
We got your back on Tacomaworld. It's good that you're able to talk about how you feel. Alot of people just bottle feelings up inside.

So it’s been some gloomy days both weather and emotionally.
The sun is out and the old man is in my ear.
Get out there and make someone smile even if it’s just yourself.

K I’m done blowing up the internet for a while. Heading to be with mom even though she says she wants me to stay home.
Been there pretty much since it happened. Kinda been neglecting my house. But my wife has been picking up the pieces I have left behind. She works second shift so nights I’m alone as you can probably tell!!!

TW has been huge here for me!!

I usually do keep them to my self, that first post was hard to post!
I opened up to TW and you all were there!

    Just can’t thank everyone enough!!

Just shows that good people are still out there!

Hope everyone has great thoughts of the good people who have left us.
And tell those who are still here you love them.

It's important to spend time with mom too, even when she says she's fine.

A little something every chance we get.
Good luck bud, and what you're doing says you got my message about your mom just fine. She has a huge hole in her life, and she needs family and her friends to remind her she isn't really alone either. Best.

Better day today thank you all!
Mom had a better day also this also helps me.
Me and the old man had a little falling out a half dozen years back.
Kinda broke up deer camp and we weren’t so close for a few months.
I am so glad that we buried that hatchet deep and became even closer knowing we were both getting older. Our first falling out in my adulthood. So stupid when I think back. But we drank too much and smoked too much spent too much then felt like shit for a week.
And the wife’s were super impressed with it.
But we had a lot of good times being together.
I’d love to feel like shit for a week to do it again.
Of course I have felt like shit for the last week for different reasons.
    But definitely better days,
sorry if I’ve brought up emotions in others.

    Thank you
    Jeff

Can’t express my thanks enough to everyone who’s shared.
Mom wants me to take dads truck!
I opened the desk drawer with his belongings he had on him.
I took his pocket knife out and told mom I want this.
We sell the truck as much as I hate too. It’s paid for she has no worries but it can’t just sit and the extra cash may help her not worry. Still not sure about his tractor stuff. He loved his JD more than his truck. Guess it’s a guy thing I know how I feel about my truck!!
But he loved the kids and animals the most.
He would not hesitate to crawl around the floor playing with the grandkids.
My knees hurt just watching the old fool do it!

I have been smiling and laughing more when I think of him!!!!!

So another decent day for mom!
Good days for her help me as well.
Poor woman is scared and lost!
But she’s stubborn and will be ok I think.
She’s resting and I’m kinda wondering thru some of dads stuff in the garage.
Brings up memories but they are good ones!
    Miss you Dad!

So she came out and watched me play on the old mans John Deere.
She had the same grin dad always had. She similed and laughed as she watched.
She’s called me dads name a few times but I just answer and she apologizies I tell her it’s ok I consider it a compliment.
She didn’t know that I knew how to run it but I ran a backhoe for like 8 years, like a bike!

    Thank you.
I’ve been trying to knock off her list of things she’s worried about.
But have been leaving stuff for her to do. I say I’m pretty sure you can get that!
Lol she had dads number but mines different!

Sorry if I’m babbling helps me to say it and I think I’ve reread the thread daily.
    Can’t thank everyone enough!

The old man would be proud of all of us!
