    Hey all,

names Ethan, I live in Ontario Canada and I just picked up a 2002 Lunar Mist Metallic 3.4L Tacoma. Its a TRD Off Road, 270k km, 4 speed auto, and its... :headbang: STEP SIDE! it's everything I wanted and can't wait to pick it up from the dealer in a few days after safety.

Heres a few pics I took from the dealer

and a pic of the frame where there was the worst rust

I was worried about rust being an issue because of where I live in Southern Ontario and all the winter salt. Looked up my VIN with Toyota and there seems to be no recalls on my specific truck. The truck looks like its been oil sprayed yearly if not semi regularly but the salt here is absolutely ruthless. My plan is to continue oil spraying it twice a year and wash it regularly in the winter. I am also considering grinding down the rust and re painting parts of the frame. Read about Safe-T-Caps https://www.autorust.com/product-category/toyota/tacoma-xtracab-4wd/ and wouldn't be opposed to strengthening the frame down the road too.

Near future I'm planning on adding beefier tires, a small lift, and some other off-road accessories such as bumpers and lights when I need them. Going to focus on an overland style build for me and my S/O to get out and explore!

Anyway I've babbled on too long, Cheers guys!

Thanks everyone! Have done a few things to the truck since the start of this thread.

Got 1.25” Spidertrax spacers and am now running 15x8” Pro Comp Rock Crawler 51 Series rims, wrapped in 31x10.5r15 BFG KOs I got used for a steal.

    Few pics:

Spacer (and my ghetto jack setup)

Initial fitment, I wasn’t too pleased with it to be honest.

    The poke is nuts lol
    [IMG]

    How it’s sitting now
    [IMG]

It was a HUGE bitch to trim and bang the pinch weld with a BFH lol, but it’s all done. I have 1” spacers ordered to level out the front and I’ll have no rubbing issues even when flexed at full lock.

This weekend I’ll be pulling the bed off and painting POR15 on the frame after I degrease and clean it up. I’ll probably be doing a bit under the cab where I can reach.

Might as well turn this into a build thread now!
