Ahhh for some reason I assumed new off the lot, that makes more sense. Sucks but glad that the price still worked out.

That reminds me of the time I drove 4 hours to look at a 4runner which had a tiny speck of metallic flake ATF showing on the end of the dipstick once :annoyed:

The dude said "they haven't ever said anything when I get the oil changed", which I would believe...if it looked like it had ever had the oil changed :bananadead:

They don't sell the 8.4 shims so I would have to buy an install kit or hope the backlash was in spec with the Detroit

Nothing like hearing a "ting" sound while half way compressed on a cheap HF spring compressor when a key part falls off

My friend and I do enjoy laughing about it from time to time...but only because we lived :anonymous:

Lol if I bought something new it would be one of the new Corolla hatchbacks, and I wouldn’t buy it unless I got under 5% ;p

Yeah, the market is a little crazy. I saw a elocker rear for like $2000 this summer on CL and I'm pretty sure it sold because the ad was gone after a few days.

I'm not sure if Detroit changed their design but I have one in the rear of my (edit: different YJ) jeep and it doesn't load/unload with any weird characteristics.

I've ran Detroit lockers in all my 4x4's, never had any issues with the rear end walking.
The front axle, on the other hand, didn't like to go where the wheels were pointed on snow and ice.
I think automatic transmissions have more of an issue with it, not being able to remove the engine torque when needed.
