That is pretty bad ass Ill prob just buy the hand pump considering Ill be doing a oil change with a air and oil filter and dont wanna get to expensive.

 

The plastic hand pumps pretty much suck and you end up making a huge mess when they bypass oil and it leaks down the side of the jug. But they'll work until you can build your own pressure filler.

In other news, that pressure filler worked perfectly again. Soooo much easier and less messy. Unfortunately, the other shoe I was expecting from things going well yesterday dropped. The first clue was I had to use a gear puller to pull the drive flange of the pinion gear pretty much the entire way. I was looking at the splines and they looked kind of twisted. Might have been an optical illusion, but I doubt it since I had to hammer the flange back on with a BFH to get the nut started to pull everything down. It's back together and seems to be holding oil, but I have a feeling the pinion gear is going to fail soon. Good thing I'll have a back up and I'm replacing the ring and pinions soon.

 

It came out well and multi functional nice job

 

LUCAS! ECGS recommends using only Lucas oil in the diff. That's all I've ever run in any gear box.

75w-90 about 6qts 1.6 for the rear 4.6 for the front I believe.

 

You've got that backwards. 4.6 rear, 1.6 front.

I used toyota GL5 75-85 in my ‘14
Sport rear-diff. It took Three liters. The suction gun I bought from summit worked perfect and had no mess.

The rear axle is not 4.6 quarts lol

 

Mine took just under 5 qts when I changed my gear oil.

 

Hmmm. A one ton axle don’t take that

 

amozon has the Full Set Of crush washers for the Tacoma.

I guess a average is 3qts for the rear but can go up to over 4

 

So I got some new shoes and I put spacers up front to clear the spindle, the alignment guy says I need spacers in the back too to do a good alignment do you guys know if that’s true?
