Yes. Everyone has a different opinion on quality. In my opinion, for 35k, it could be better.

You get a mini house with all the plush shit you desire for 40k. All depends on your needs.

$35k is not a big number anymore. Average new car price is $35285 for 2018. A freaking new Yaris costs $20k. Again it's a Toyota, not a Mercedes and it's a midsize truck not a full size. Think your expectations/priorities are bit askew.

Where in the hell have I said it had to be plush with an interior like an 80k vehicle? Tell me? I just said it could be better. I think your justification for the norm has you askewed and can’t/won’t except anything other than what Toyota tells you what you can have.

In fact, some full size trucks depending on the model are not that much different in price.

Unfortunately trucks are more of a status / fashion statement these days than actually used / a necessity for most.

You literally just got done saying that you wanted a merlot crushed velvet interior with matching leather and Brazilian heartwood surrounds with a gold foil monogram on the dash and heated everything with chinchilla fur headrests.

How can you get that at 35k

Tacoma number 6, with a few Fords and GMs in there. Think I know what my expectations are with these trucks and where it matters most as far as build quality. Maybe you should consider trading back into that super quality Dodge Dart you mentioned.

    $35K Gets you a 2WD F150 XL with AM/FM and vinyl seats.
Some of you are seriously kidding yourself thinking $35K is a lot of money or the interior should be "quality" or whatever.
Personally I think the TRD Sport for $35K gives me quite a bit of value compared to the competition.

Not trying to start an argument here, but have you owned a 60-70 era car? I’ve had a couple of them and keeping them running correctly is a bit of a trick. That and the insane rust from poorly designed body flow. The ones I had the door cards were leather or material vs plastic. Different colors or not, the plastic is much easier to clean. I had some stains on the doors of my mustang I could never get off.

Honestly, I have a huge heart for older cars, but between the reliability, ease of pulling them apart (both body panels and engine), I am a huge fan of newer cars and technology has created a product that will withstand time (given proper care obviously) better than an older car. Just my two cents

Now, you gonna have the same expectations for the $35K truck as you have for the $66K truck? Nope.
