Upgrade Time!

So very excited- although I was waiting on a PRO (in White) they are hard to find right now.

Got a SMOKING deal on a white limited! What a change over the TRD SPORT Access Cab I traded with a whopping 2,000 miles on the ODO.

The limited is really quiet inside and more coupe d' elegance with features.

Still on the fence with the predator side steps.. but it's neat!

Got one like that but with the factory roof rack bars. Get the OV tune for it and you will love it.

 

Nice Limited, but why? That sport looks like a nice truck. Needed 4 doors? FYI, I love the Limiteds, I'm just being nosey

 

thats weird my sport has color matched mirrors and black around the fogs, interested on the reason to change..limited is a nice but prefer AC with MT... nice truck though glad you like it

 

If you're still following, below is my reasoning (and yes I suck at writing)


-- I didn't need the four doors the AC worked for my lifestyle and what I use it for - haul kayaks and a few bicycles. (altho my new bikes are electric assisted so I can ride anyplace I need to be) SCOTT E Spark 710

My present daily AMG Benz just has so much tech and wanted my truck to have as much tech and sadly you cannot get sunroof and JBL in AC. Be honest the difference (from what I thought initially was just some extra chrome bits) I was wrong , the entire truck is quieter, has the little extras (and I mean seems they pull all the parts off the shelf and add to the limited models) from mud flaps to the door edge trim (and I haven't seen a car in decades that has those on them - very strange) extra leather bits on dash and doors. really dresses it up.

What I love.

This homelink blows the homelink out the door thats on the new benz (which is shared parts bin with tesla) bi directional on this new one??
The JBL is night and day sound over the stock TRD Sport- the sub woofer is the answer.
The doors all four close with an almost german vehicle thud. (the AC was always a loud 76' mercury door closing sound) my brother has a F150 with the same suicide doors and they sound loud when closing.

What I miss?

The hood scoop for the looks - the extra water dripping after a wash was a little annoying to be honest

I got a smoking deal on my 2017 AC TRD Sport but 18 months after purchase and a whopping 2,000 miles on the ODO I got basically the same money back I paid. (I get it they add it on the back end on the new limited) but those numbers were thousands off MSRP also and had rebates and all that extra junk I didn't expect to get was on the vehicle. Predator Steps, tacoma folding rear cover, bed mat, mud flaps.. (yes I never visited the dealership in both purchases- just called and said run it up) - the good news I was able to start again these TACOs hold value that well and they are moving 18's like crazy

The chrome and 18 grille on the old TRD Sport- I bought those bits from a forum member, most are de-chroming-- and it looked good IMO.

 

either way man enjoy your new truck, it looks nice...plan on doing anything other than driving it?

 

What do they do different to the Limited interior and doors to make them quieter? Do they add sound proofing material?

I know this is after the fact, but it might help others. Trimming the underside of the Skewp fixes that and makes it functional. No car wash or snow splooshes on the windshield:



It ain't the nicest trim work, but it's hidden and does what I want.
