All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have owned a LT taco in the past. In order for it to perform both on the street and Offroad its $$$+$. Icon is the way to go, I have run multiple icon lifts on a few vehicles. By far the best tuned from the factory you can get IMO. You will be glad you went with Icon. If you want, slap some badass TC upper and lower control arms on it. However the new Icon uppers are the jam.

I was a hair close to put a snorkel on my GX, but I couldn’t justify it for Ga. plus I was a wuss about putting a big ole hole in my fender

Alright this last part is confusing as hell. So you're putting off LT and getting a complete Icon lift (just beware Icon tophats have notoriously broken https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/icon-waaa-waaaa-waaaaa.475231/ ) I recommend Kings as they have never had an issue like that but that's just my opinion.

On to the stuff that makes no sense, 6" fender extensions? As in like fiberglass fenders? You won't need these unless you get LT, honestly it'll look pretty stupid unless you have LT. Extended axles? Again only LT will need these. So unless you meant to say you're doing these down the road then that makes more sense, or I could just be reading this wrong :notsure:

But IMO you should get out and wheel your rig to see if you even want to do this. You could just get some sliders, skid plates (stock would probably get you fine) and some decent 32" all terrain tires and see how you like it. If you do then go balls out with LT. You'll be saving money in the long run since you won't be buying a shock that'll maybe get 10k miles on. Just my 2 cents as you're not spending thousands of dollars on stuff you may or may not actually enjoy, but if you do enjoy it you can save said money and put it straight into LT.

If you've got any other questions don't hesitate to ask :hattip:

Sorry for the long post

Edit: Also installing front LT (non fenders) is super easy except for the welding, if you're somewhat mechanically inclined and have a weekend and some garage space go and do it yourself. You'd save probably $1000 just in labor

    @Speachey
If you already ordered those Icons, then feel fine about your purchase. It’s true there have been some issues that some have experienced. But that’s how it rolls, I have had about 6 sets of Icons on Landcruisers most definitely bring weight down the trail and they have served me well.
The Kings are a more robust shock for sure. Their designs have been tested for years in Baja, so if you plan on running speed over whoops and jumping. Go kings and total chaos down the road.

Oh for sure if he's already bought them no need to return them. Just food for thought is all, but when choosing coil-overs it basically comes down to pick a color. King (blue) Fox (silver/black) Icon (black) haha. You can't really go bad

No you can’t go wrong these days. I have all three currently. But you can spend all day second guessing your decisions. Best thing is to not stay brand loyal, try them out. When a new project/rig is to be built try something new...but def do your research as Josh pointed out. So much money is wasted on hype.
You can definitely tell the Kings are the most stout. I will say there was more effort in getting them tuned to my specific needs then the Icons or Fox’s.
While they are all similar, each company has it’s own strengths.

@CowboyTaco I have not. Ended up going with new rims and tires for now. That and I finally pulled the trigger on on my tattoo.

I went with Falken AT3/W 265/75/17 wrapped around American Racing AR172 Baja in satin black.

Two things. I’m in Marietta near the new Braves stadium. Lookin for install of a lift kit. After browsing it looks like ACC garage is well thought of, any other suggestions?
I’ve posted about the wheelers kit and gotten feedback that the leaf springs are serviceable but not the greatest. but at 20% off w no tax and free shipping it looks like a killer deal. I’m planning on getting the expedition pack

Nothing wrong with that kit, seems pretty decent and includes everything except UCA's. I wouldn't bother with the front diff drop tho as it's not worth it on 2nd gens. With a mod day most of that could be knocked out pending no major issues. Or you just take 2 different days to get it all done

I'll agree that it is a pretty complete kit. I'd skip the AllPro UCAs and I'd order it unassembled to save some cost.

I'm pretty sure the front shocks are 2.5" body, which means they should be great at soaking up bumps and ride very smoothly. That seems like a very good kit for the money. You'll be happy with that one.

thanks for the info. I’m having a shop install it because I recently had arm surgery. I’d like to join a mod day sometime, I’m super green but interested to learn more maintenance

Keep an eye on the GA section, one usually gets posted. If not I can always host one if enough people are willing
