It saddens me to see the direction the BSA has gone these past few years. Seems like the snowflakes & PCness has taken over.

 

It will always be an esteemed honor to those who choose to recognize it.

ASM here- girls will have their own troops, including different leadership and different committees. Girls and boys will NOT be integrated. Two different parallel programs.

Lets not forget, Venture Scouts already has both boys and girls mixed, 14 years old and up.

Cub scouts- all girl Dens, and/or all girl Packs, separate from boys.

 

For now. They are already talking integration into the troops in a similar fashion as the packs with all girl patrols. I am assuming that after this first year they will make a decision on complete integration. This is from someone I know at national.

Also after their decision on transgender and girls last yr. BSA national has sent nothing to councils, districts, or troops on how to handle or deal with their integration nor any rules. Again nothing will happen if the CO doesn't want it to, BSA national has just said we will not turn them down but per the gay lawsuit in 2009 I believe national left all of this up to the CO, for religious reasons a CO can turn away girls, trans, or gays and not be forced to accept them just because nat'l allows them.

Eagle Scout 2007, a week before my 18th birthday. (Started when I was 14 after a 3 year hiatus from scouting)
OOA Langundowi Lodge 46.
Could tell stories about camping trips for weeks! Never went to Jamboree or Philmont.
Project was work at my local baseball field. Built new fence around dugouts and in front of stands, sanded and reinstalled bleacher seats, new benches in dugouts, painted almost everything on the property, and rebuilt the horseshoe pits.
