Exactly, but some people on this forum don't seem to realize this. Everyone uses their truck differently so what works for someone won't work for someone else.

We had some good discussions this past weekend on this. Down here in the SE where I am at most of the parks/trails or the harder ones are a good mix of rock crawling and good off camber hill climbs where more flex never hurts to try and keep as many tires on the ground as possible. AOAA really surprised me with how completely different it was. I don't think I would ever need a 63 set up if I wheeled mostly that area.

Oh shit let me go try and find pics from our property in NH. I have a pic somewhere of white tail swimming across the pod and a moose about up to his belly wading and some elk hanging around the bank getting a drink.

So these are 10 inch travel shocks. At full stuff it looks like I have 2ish more inches before they bottom out. I need to add a spacer to my bumps to avoid neg. Arch on my all poo expos. Could I run a 12 inch travel shock without a tower relocate or am I missing something? Does anyone make a 12incher that mounts to the factory brackets ?

You would destroy the shock before you start flexing at all. I bought the wrong fox shocks at first when I did my flip and bolted them on in the stock location and I had 2" or less of shaft showing while the truck was parked in a lot. To my knowledge, there are no 12" shocks that will bolt up in the stock location with out destroying the shocks.

You could as long as you limited uptravel a bunch. I know @ETXTacoma is running a 12" shock. That's why I like the B110 because they're an 11" shock.

This can be made up by a longer shackle (in theory). Again, I am running stock length shackles from ATO. Looking at either SOS or XJ shackles.

You guys move fast. That lizard skin is good stuff though. I forget the psi needed for proper application but it was achievable even with a small compressor. I used it on my brothers Mustang. I used bedliner on my own mustang and it did nothing for heat or sound and the texture got annoying after a while. I ended up using dynamat over it which was a pain in itself.

Luckily (or unluckily) I have 16 hours of driving this weekend in a taco with no carpet. That'll give me a good judge of if I'm gonna want sound deadening or if I can get by without it.

My wheeler superbumps are a little taller than that and I don't run into any neg arch I'm running B110s but no shackle flip so it may be a little different with your set up

Yea, I am running a set of Icon 12" travel shocks in the stock location, but I sure as F do not recommend it. I have Wheelers SuperBumps along with a set of both sizes spacers for them to prevent the shocks from bottoming out. Yea it is nice getting 11.5" of droop out of the rear, but my bump travel is very limited and it sucks. But I don't do fast offroading, so I have not been very worried about it and I have not bottomed out the shocks at all.

This will be redone over the winter as I am planning to replace the Icons with King PR2512-SS's and do the BAMF Shock Relocate and can then remove the bumpstop spacers as well.

About the best picture I have where you can see how much shock is seen at ride height, and also how tall the bump stops are...
