So as of 11-4-18 I am not a tacoma owner, very bitter sweet. I loved both of my Tacomas but it was time for a diesel. The opportunity arose to get this truck and so I did. Its already been built which is my favorite part so that takes some fun away but its got a lot of work left to do so I'm not completely missing out on the chance to build a truck. I'll pretty much end up changing everything up a little so it will still be fun but saves me a lot of money doing it this way. So with all that said welcome to the build and my apologies for the blasphemy of a Duramax on TacomaWorld.

When I acquired the truck, the main things it already had was the 12" lift, the Amp research steps, 20x12's and 37's, Fass 150, a 4" straight pipe, and EFI live. As the build gets going this post can be referenced to see what I changed.

Currently planning on changing all the lights, most likely building some retrofit's. Also plan on switching to a 5" straight pipe with a 8" tip axle dump. Rear suspension needs some full length leaf springs, traction bars, and new shocks. The suspension needs new powder coat and I'm thinking about going with blue. The truck needs a minimum of 40's but I'm not opposed to throwing more lift on it and going to 44's or 46's. It also needs a hidden hitch to tuck behind the roll pan.

I didn’t see you state what the end goal is and what you plan on doing with the truck (show, mud, etc).

Ever consider swapping out the IFS for a solid axle and links?

    Truck with 4 wheels, sometimes.
    Nice truck.

I’ve had a number of that Gen.

    How’s head gaskets? Lift pump?

Also keep close eye on radiator necks and power steering pump lines

Keep an eye on tail lights, DTRL and cab lights, they tend to go out frequently.

Beds tend to rust along with cab corners. Frame will also if not watched.

Not necessarily show per say but the goal it have good driving, enjoyable, good looking work truck. I tend to avoid mud if possible but then again I drive 4x4’s for a reason. I’ll use it if need be. I would love to go SAS but I don’t think it’s realistic financially. I’ll probably get a Superduty or Cummins next so then a conversion won’t be nessisary.

It currently has 50 over injectors and will likely stay that way unless they give me problems.

That you sir. I am told it is a Subaru blue. It was rather fitting that I got a blue truck considering the last two.
