I bought a used 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport, and while checking out the underside, I noticed this doodad that looked strange because there's 2 open tubes begging for clogging. Can you folks tell me what it is, what it does, and if everything looks correct.

    TIA,
    Greg

it's an exhaust hanger, and is correct all it does is hold up the exhaust system

Looks like its just the rack hold bar (not sure the technical term)

It's holding your exhaust into position. It's factory like that...on any car you will ever buy.

Sorry, that's your blinker fluid drain plug. Looks like your plug is missing and you must be out of blinker fluid

Thanks guys. This being my 1st Tacoma (had 3 Dakotas prior), I'm not too knowledgeable about them yet. I seen those open tubes and thought something was missing or stolen.

    Thanks again!

Why are all you guys screwing with him? If you look under the left rear fender-1/4 panel you will see a plastic canister. It has 2 hoses coming out of it. I'm guessing that the original owner offroaded pretty heavily and disconnected it. Run the 2 hoses to the holes and plug them in

Truck must have came from California. It’s a liberal o2 oxygen sensor relay. Take
It off. You’ll get 10hp back

On a serious note. I remember as a kid at the amusement park one of the rides I liked but cant remember which one had those type things just way bigger and I remember them being all dry rotted and while on the ride staring at them hoping they would not snap. But kept going back for more.

No problem with the ribbing. I'm a big boy. Not too smart a boy tho. I panicked and figured I'd get a quick answer here. Now that you've splained it to me, I can see how it looks pretty silly.

that comes the factory that way. The exhaust is stainless steel. the hanger is welded which means those two pieces have to be stainless too. You can't weld two different metals together. if it wasn't stainless, they would have to braze them together. And its a tube likely because a tube is less expensive than stainless rod.
