You could narrow it down to your chances of being killed, Army and Marines, special forces of any branch obviously, if you want some action. My job prospects were good after an honorable discharge from USN. I have about 3 1/2 years of sea duty USS DETROIT. No one can say the Navy has not suffered their share of loss however that was back in WW2. My salutations to all who have and are serving.

I commend you for wanting to join. Not many people want to join any branch of service. With that being said, I would have to recommend the Army. Simply because of the promotion rates and job opportunities. I'm sure someone will argue differently but where our current military stands, the Army has the best statistical data. Either way, join what YOU want to join. Don't let others make you feel any less for not joining their service of choice. Every service has some form of special operations as well. Each service has its good things and bad. Good luck!

In 1968 the draft board would hand you a rabbit. If you killed the rabbit you went to the Marines. If you hit the rabbit you went to the Army. If you petted the rabbit the Navy got you. If you tried to have sex with the rabbit you were sent to the Air Force.

All kidding aside listening to other people on here, depends on what you wanna do. Dads an ex AF pilot and ex JROTC teacher and he of course recommended the AF to his students. Lot of opportunity to travel and the best accommodations and chow halls in the armed forces. Plus unless your a pilot or MP your always gonna be in the rear with the gear. Other branches have their pluses and minuses as well, just do some research and good luck.
