    A few months ago my wife and I purchased a 2016 4Runner Sr5 from a Hyundai dealership.

The dealership offers free oil changes for life with any vehicle purchase.

I only use the Mobil 1 0W 20 on my tacoma and the dealership said they will change the oil with whatever the vehicle requires. It will be 0W20 but not mobil 1.

Should i take advantage of free oil changes or should i change it myself like I do with my tacoma. Thanks all.

Dealership oil changes have only caused me headaches in the past. Sounds like you're fluent changing your own oil. I'd go that route, but that's just me.

Get the Specialty tool for the filter cartridge and do it yourself.

Yea im kinda leaning that way too. I am planning on keeping it a long time, so knowing its getting a proper oil change is important.

It would obviously save me money havin them do it, but the piece of mind doing it myself is worth more id say.

You never actually know what oil the dealership is using. I don’t imagine that they give you the good stuff for free. Not to mention you likely won’t get an OE filter from a Non Toyota dealer.

I use Mobil 1 And Wix on my 4R.

I’d suggest doing what you’re gut is telling you......change your own oil.
