Hah, I wish. Hawaii’s vehicle inspection is a cake walk compared to some states. Hawaii never pulled a wheel, checked emissions, or anything intrusive... And I’m not talking just California.. wish I was. Even all of my recon visits were easy because the rules really aren’t that bad unless you wanna be able to have a Shaq shoe worth of stance hanging out of your fender.

Bottom line - don’t be that guy with asshole lights. Retrofits will work fine, but you’ll have issues yourself with them not cracking / fogging. Anything else other than what the housing calls for is dangerous for anyone else on the road.
