Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

What can i say on here without folks blowing this forum to hell. Im just curios if we can get a ball park and not a soon lol. Im all for a perfected 1.05 as im not satisfied with 1.04.

 

Some of us aren't on here daily, So i pop up once in a while to see where we are at tune wise.

 

That was my understanding also.

 

Just saying but those quotes were estimated timelines, there was an explanation for exactly why each of those timelines were not met

I 100% agree with you. When made my purchase Mat was moving across country and it took some time to get my product. As soon as I figured out how to install it all of the waiting was made right. I will be grateful to get 1.05 when he's satisfied with it and i know that I will be over the top excited to be his customer! Till then no whining!

All of the tunes up to 1.04 were created by Mat reverse engineering Toyota’s code. Mat has worked out something with Toyota and gained access to the key to the kingdom as far as this platform is concerned from what I have gathered. This tune is not just an alteration to his previous tune this one is a total revamp from the ground up. The process takes time. Give the man some space to work. The extra time he is taking will allow him to deliver the best product he can to you. All of us that own a 3rd gen know what he is up against.

Take a step back and read some of the information Mat has provided about the complexity of the programming on this platform. For the automatic transmission trucks he has two battles to fight. Re writing the programming on both the ECM and the TCM. Not to mention the multiple different firmware versions across the year model range. Each of them needs its own version of the tune.

Mat also has a multitude of other customers that are not Tacoma owners that he has to stay up to date with.

Attention all new and potential OVTune customers: Be patient. The process to get tuned and receive updates takes varying lengths of time. If you’re not patient, do not purchase (now).

And for gawd sake, if your upset about ANYTHING, take it up with Matt and keep it off the forum.

Ok... can’t say we didn’t tell ‘em so

 

I drove with 1.04r today and man it is DEFINITELY better than 1.04, even my wife was like, Dang this is fun!”.

Drove about 80 miles and started with half tank full with the avg at 15.6mpg due to my hellish commuting this week. When I got home it was 17mpg. The throttle response is way better. Half of the pedal needed to change gears compared to 1.04. It holds speed way better too.

I am happy with 1.04r lifted, armor, tires etc. 1.05 is gonna be kickass

 

How is 1.04r compared to the tsb? Seems that some went back to the TSB tune while waiting for 1.05
I have the tsb and hopefully my flash kit shows up Monday.

The 1.04r is the TSB with the added power of 1.04

 

Monday is a holiday no flash kit for you. Me waiting for the registry file from mat to finish my software registration sent him my ID tuesday night and it saturday now still no registry file .

 

I was a little frustrated 1.05 kept getting pushed back.

Now that I see the ECT PWR button will he used for shift locking in S mode, take all of the time you need!!

 

He’s a veteran. I hope he takes the day off and spends it with his family.
