    Hey everyone,
I have never owned or driven a Tacoma before 3 days ago. I realized tonight when getting in that when I start to put my key in the ignition, it sounds like an air bag suspension releasing air to level the truck from the rear. Granted this may be an absolutely noob question, and it might be coming from under the hood, but can anyone tell me the answer to this? It is a 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR Access Cab 6 foot bed. I am trying to learn about the truck but haven’t had the chance to read up on this yet.

Are you stepping on the brake pedal and noticing the brake booster?

I thought the same thing, but I was unsure of the types of suspension and am not much of a mechanics guy sadly. I sure hope it is not, I have only had it for 3 days. Guess I will call the dealership.

This is without the brake being pressed, I leaned in to start it up and just the tip of the key was put in and as mentioned above it sounds like air bags airing down to level the rear bed of the truck.

That is what I am trying to figure out myself as I am unsure. I posted here first since everyone here seems to be very knowledgeable with all things Tacoma.

I guess I should mention that this is a V6 4x4. I apologize for leaving that part out of it makes a difference.

No, this is a V6 4x4. Truthfully didn’t realize it until I would say a few hours ago.

It might be, like I had mentioned I have never driven or owned a Tacoma before so all this is new to me.

Fuel pump pressurization. Back there in the tank.

I just took a video, directly above the rear drive tire by the tank and it’s clearly audible by the fuel tank. I really appreciate it! Never heard it before in any of my other cars. So truly thank you.

No problem. All vehicles do it but ours are pretty loud. I guess due to no sound deadening in the bed and rear cab exhausters ( cabin pressure vents) on the rear of the cab in between the cab and the bed.
Now get out there and enjoy that truck. Lol

You must trade it for a gen 1 tacoma before it blows up and kills you and your family. Of course it will cost you a few thousand dollars to trade up to a gen 1 or gen 2.

Yep, that is exactly where the tank/pump is. You may point it out at your next service appointment to have it checked and verify it is operating as expected.
