My 2017 did a new trick over the weekend. Had it parked in a parking garage Friday and Saturday while my family went out of town. When I picked it up to drive home, the steering wheel shook pretty hard for the first 20 miles or so. Could feel it in the floorboard up into the steering. Then it went away. Today it’s fine. Before I parked it - it was fine.

Nothing visibly wrong that I can tell.

Any ideas? 2017 TRD Sport (2WD)

    Thx!

Oh edit: The warranty expired this AM of course. Lol.

Perhaps one or more of your tires had a flat spot from sitting and it worked itself out. How cold was it in the parking garage?

It was pretty cold overnight - maybe upper 20s? During the day low 50s. Perhaps....

It was odd - quite harsh actually. Pulled over... nothing wrong, so drove on home. About halfway there just went away.

What was the mileage on the odometer when you took delivery? The warranty (mileage based limit) is 36K from delivery odometer mileage... you may have enough remaining (from test drives before purchase) to get your truck to the shop.

I had the same thing happen to me when I lived in Upstate NY, but my truck was parked for a week and temps were much colder. Shook like hell for a while. The nearest Toyota dealership was about 35 miles away. By the time I got there, the shaking was gone. They checked the balance of the tires and some other stuff I can’t remember and found nothing amiss. They told me my tires had probably gotten frozen with a flat spot where they contact the ground.

It's probably those cheap ass tires you have.

Thx for the responses ...I’ll assime tires at this point. Can’t wait for these to wear out so I can get some better truck tires!
