Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
These are posted in many areas of Asia. Saw hundreds in our travels. They are posted for a reason.

You gotta wonder why the addiction to such a stinky thing? Even Andrew Zimmern (Bizarre Food show, eats everything) won't eat them!

Well, they only grow in the tropics... a huge tree and this fruit is surrounded by pyramid-shaped points. They would kill if they fell from high up there on to you!

My wife is Filipino so I get to try out all the weird fruits. Filipino supermarkets usually carry all that stuff. Lychees when fresh are my favorite. When we visited the Philippines my favorite thing there that we don't see here very much are blood oranges. Blood orange ice tea is so good. I have my own tree now so I get to enjoy it for a few months out of the year. I also planted a Fuyu persimmon for the wife. I don't like them but my wife eats them almost every day. Also Calamanci which is a small but very powerful citrus. I regularly make a strawberry, calamanci and lime juice.

One more. I was in the kitchen and look what was on the counter. The wife must have bought them this morning.

    Three fuyu for you!
I like them but not so much the traditional soft persimmon. These are like apples with nutmeg!

Did they appear without permission... a persimmon without permission? [sorry, I couldn't help myself]

Actually yes they did, they were in the fruit bowl and I had to ask what they were. Then I explained that I heard about them once on a Toyota Tacoma forum.

I love persimmons but you are supposed to wait til it frosts heavy before they are sweet enough to eat...... in East Tennessee anyway.....

Haven't washed my truck in a couple weeks because it's been raining. Got out there today and it's got persimmon crap all over it. Little droplets that are very tough to get off when dried to the paint. F'n birds! Anybody got good goo removal tips that won't eat through the clear coat and paint?
