Its while going over the bump, and when it’s loaded with that much weight in the rear. If I go slowly there’s no issue. Nothing new nor surprising. I’ve wheeled it a couple times and it does phenomal for what it is.

Anything under ~300LBS it doesn’t drop the rear.

I'm respectful of the off roading that I will do, which might be a day on the beach, or in the snow and maybe a dirt road as well as the trucks capacity which will far exceed my skills. My set up works great for me. I have a lifted Tacoma, nice wheels and a bigger tire, great ride and just a great vehicle. I love it the way it is, adding a few other little things and I'm done.IMG_20181009_181855269_HDR.jpg

Sounds like you're hitting your bump stops which you should be, not bottoming out your shocks, not the same thing. If you aren't running extended shocks that are too long for your setup compressed at bump stops you aren't bottoming out your shocks. If you are bottoming them out they will be dead soon!

I thought this was the case. I've been trying to find a collapsed and extended length of the stock TRD OR rears. I'm out of town so I can't measure for myself but do you happen to know what it is?

I have a 1" block and it's hardly high enough to notice imho. Will get a leaf pack or AAL back there someday.

I don't know the numbers off hand, but if you can find the numbers for the stock replacement 5100's you can expect them to be very similar. IIRC extended is about 22.5 inches and collapsed is about 14.5 inches.

I received the toytec boss rears in the mail the other days as i was leaving town and took a quick measure of the extended length from centre of the eye to the centre of the two bushings for the upper mount and they were approx 25 inches extended.

The pro has 1/2 of rake. My next door neighbor has one. My truck (sr5 double cab) came stock with 1.5" of rake. Since the pro is 1" higher in the front this makes perfect sense.

I raised the front of my truck 1.5" which puts me at 1/2" over a stock pro and put a 1" block in the rear. It looks really good with 265/75/16 tires. I have stock sr5 shocks so you should have zero problems with a 1" rear block with the pro shocks. Putting an AAL in the back will change the way the truck handles in the rear and may be too stiff. if you went AAL and nothing in the front you are gonna go from 1/2" of rake to 2" of rake and its gonna look silly. See how the can of worms opens up quickly!

Since you want to keep your stock suspension (who wouldn't on a pro) I would Suggest putting a 1" block in the rear and add a 1/4 spacer in the front to raise it 1/2" in the front. make sure all the parts are black including the bolts so it deceivingly looks stock :) this will give you 1" of rake that looks more like 1/2" so when you put gear in the bed it isn't bro leaning.

1/4 spacer in the front and a 1" block in the rear are probably the safest settings you can possibly go with the stock suspension.

If you want more height put on 265/75/16 tires for an additional half an inch of lift. or you could put on Firestone destination AT's in the same size and get 3/4" of lift like me (they run bigger for some reason)

I had 2 vehicles.... but one died... RIP 2011 Optima sx... you served me well for nearly 8 yrs.
Tacoma is my daily now unfortunately, and not simply the fun vehicle. Here come the excessive miles on the new truck... dangit.
Stupid optima.... lil sob anyways... hope your burning in hell

I ride with 2 inch blocks with the Boss 2.0 coils and extended shocks. Nothing harsh with the ride and still feels like stock. Ride is subjective I agree but compared to stock on a TRD 4x4 OR DCSB 6MT the ride is sweet. A 1 inch block would make no compelling difference. $.02

Trucks are totally different than a car. If you really dislike the truck I suggest trading it for a 370z. I drove a 350z for 10 years and loved every minute of it. 150% confidence in handling, brakes, and power. When i sold it to my cousin with 150k on it, the motor still ran perfect like the day i got it and did not burn a drop of oil. I drove it like i stole it EVERY DAY! Never not one issue.

Who said I dislike my truck? It's the opposite, I just wanted to keep the miles down and use my optima because the mpg is double on the highway.
    Cheers

Time to look for a reliable beater as a second car? And by beater i mean it gets beat up with miles :)

I totally understand the mileage thing. For the first 20 years of my life i was constantly putting 50k miles a year on every car i had.....It sucked....Seriously i wanted a paid off car that was going to be reliable for years not one with way over 200k on it. I feel your pain!
