Debating on how to wash off my black truck from being covered in ash by the fires in Malibu. Any suggestions on how to not destroy the paint in scratches and swirls? I did wax it coincidentally right before the fires so hopefully that helps me out a bit here.

Took out the stock sub, put kicker 6x9 s in the doors, and added a amp and sub to the stock head unit using existing wiring.

    Big thx to u/destin_meeks.

Hopefully this is useful for someone else as I couldn't find much online as to how to make this work.

Sounds great! It's not going to wakeup the neighborhood, but at 3/4 vol it freaking rocks the cab! I do disconnect the sub when stu is in there.

I would use a lot of Sudsy Soap and a soft spray of water like a shower the suds and water should help float the ash off. use a lambs wool mitt and you should be ok, Do small areas at a time don't rub hard Had to clean of CHP cars up north after fires up there way back in the day also ash and soot from Mt St Helens that drifted down. No much but enough to see on the black hood and deck lids. Try cleaning that red Borate fire retardant off same type of cars.

I don't know what you call it, just body moulding I guess. Mine came off too in the car wash but I was lucky enough to have it hanging down the side of the cab. A few squirts of exterior adhesive (Lexel) and it was back in place.
