Is there a way to route wires through rocker panels?

There are body plugs in the bottom of the rockers on our trucks. I haven’t pulled my whole carpet out to know if there are access points to the rocker cavity from inside the cab. Does anyone know if there are any?

    Update:

In case anyone’s interested, I located a plug on the bottom of passenger side rocker panel, just aft of the body mount behind the front wheel.

Then I pulled back the carpet a bit on the passenger side after removing the kick panel and sill and located the body mount bolt access hole and removed the plastic plug.

The distance between these two holes is about 6 or 8 inches. I shone my flashlight down into the body mount hole and looked up through the hole in the bottom of the rocker and saw light, so I fished my cables up into the rocker and forward to the body mount hole where I then pulled it through and into the cab. I made sure my cables would fit, then removed them again as I wanted to use the rubber plug to bush the cables from wearing against the inside edge of the hole in the rocker panel.

I cut a hole in the center of the rubber plug for the rocker panel, but was careful not to cut away material from the conical shaped part that presses into the hole, so that it would have enough integrity to create a good seal against the rocker panel. I’ll then pass the cables through the modified plug and use canned gasket material to seal around the cables. There are four cables each approximately the size of coax typical of radio antenna coax. Two will be routed rearward and inside of the frame (you can see where they enter the frame right next to the point where they enter the rocker panel), and then up the back of the cab and over the roof to the solar panel - these cables are zip tied to various points of the bed rack and cab rack. The other two cables will be routed over the the top of the cab mount and up into the engine bay and to the battery.

I’ll do the same with the body mount plug in the cab. I’m also going goop some gasket material around the head of the body mount bolt as it looks like it might wear against the cables.

This is where I’m bringing two of the cables into the engine bay to connect to the battery (the black cable in the foreground that snakes down and under):

There’s also a plug at the back of the rocker panel but I’m not sure if there are any internal obstructions along the length of it. My guess is that there probably is.

Anyway, hope this is useful to someone. Easier than pulling out the rear seat and storage bins to get to the holes behind them (which I did before deciding to go the route I described here).

Will add a couple more pics when the controller is mounted etc.

From the inside of the cab? You just lift up the trim next to the door frame.

I was looking at using the drain plug which is under the carpet of the driver seat to route under the cab.

You could drill and plug your own.

I routed the CB attenna wire from the tailgate, under the bed, through the cab floor. Pulled one of the body plugs and fed the wire through, made it water tight with mechanical clamps and goop on either side of the plug.

Yeah I’ve used one of the floor plugs on the pass side. I might use another one.

I guess you mean from the inside cab to the outside, not just keeping everything inside. I have no idea, I misunderstood what you were looking for, my bad.
