What is your beef with GST?

In my experience the only downside to Gulf States is that they dress all of the SR5’s in either the Texas Edition package, or the TSS package. That has zero effect on the rest of the Tacoma’s and from what I can tell, our prices are as good if not better than most places in the nation.

Not sure hiw that makes them a scammer.

    Too few to list.
Could be that the dealership just want to sell what is already allocated to them. As I understand it, the PRO's are only allocated to certain dealers with sales volume to support it. Even at that, they are also limited in how many they can get and what. If I wanted a PRO, I would have to get it from a bigger dealership because the local in town dealership will not and can not get one even if ordered.

I'd say check with other dealerships and see if cutting the MT's production is the truth.

Correction: The local dealership can get a PRO but not from the manufacturer. They would have to trade for it from another dealership and only if that dealership is willing to part with it which I highly doubt.

It seems easier for them not to. They sell out everything they send out to the dealers without making the extra effort.

They are lying. Don't buy something you don't want.

They make more money forcing you to take features and packages you really don’t want.

Using the allocation system they have puts inventory on lots, instead of full customer customization, thus turning dealers into service centers.

Same as SE Toyota. The region has a choke hold on the dealer as far as what you can 'order'. You gave a great example; and I'd bet there are ad on's or can't have it's on other models too. By that I mean just because it's an option on the Toyota build sheet doesn't mean you can have it, and just because you didn't check it off the on your order sheet doesn't mean you won't get it.

If you like what they have on the lot, and can negotiate a good price, fine. Otherwise, you may well be shuffled with stories about what is and isn't available. It boils down to be a case of how much effort a dealer may be willing to put into your situation, even if it means dancing around their regional chiefs.

Toyota also does it to limit the amount of configurations, that lessens the opportunity for mistakes in the assembly process and keeps quality higher.

I checked the Tacoma official "build" site. The Pro is no longer offered with the manual; the only manual options left are the crew cab Off Road and Access cab Sport.

I am unconvinced it’s a quality issue. It isn’t like they would be adding that many SKU’s.

They could just batch up similar configs. A run with moonroofs. A few units with JBL. Pro’s with snorkles. Pros without.

Surely they’ve studied this. I’d love to read a report on allowing customers to customize and buy direct from toyota.com.

Oh goodness. Folks were saying that they'd scoop up a last hurrah MT if it was announced and just not blindly phased out.

It seems they are going out with a whimper.

I really have to wonder if it won't be AT only for 2020?

I cannot say enough how happy I am to have snagged a late second MY, non-TSS-P, non-Tech, non-Prem MT Taco.

Edit: I can still built an MT Pro in my region.

That is how it was said that they already operate. It kind of messes with dealers since they sometimes have to take on more of a certain package they really want to, like Limiteds and MTs.

Wait them out. Vehicle sales are starting to go into the gutter again.
In a few months, they will start to cater to the buyers again, who
ever might be buying at that point.

That is only for your area. Put in another zip code. Try 20895 I just built one in MT so a dealer in this are has one.

The take rate on the MT Pros is so low I wouldnt be surprised if they didn’t stop making them.

I highly doubt they will drop manuals until the 4th Gen comes out as they have already paid for crash and emissions tastings for the 3rd Gen.

If zip code makes a difference that probably indicates that some already built manual pros are still in stock, but the factory will not be making any more.

Something is not right...place an order for a vehicle without consideration like a deposit then you have no contract with the dealer...get it writing next time otherwise your just wasting your time!
