I know it is a Tundra. Please move if this isn't an appropriate place for this thread.

Honestly, this type of thing goes a long way with me. Doesn't hurt that Toyota's are incredibly reliable, but I'm pretty sure when I pay off my Tacoma there will be another Toyota joining it in the garage. Seeing a corporation step up and help out a family in need really seals the deal for me.

That's kick ass, but I think I would want to keep the truck as long as there's nothing mechanically wrong with it. Have them replace the melted bits and clearcoat the charred part. It would be one hell of a conversation piece.

Saw this story earlier. Well deserved on all fronts. This guy is an absolute hero. And the amount of press Toyota is getting on this is easily is worth a replacement Tundra.

Saw the story on the roasted truck just an hour ago and wondered if Toyota would step in. And they did. Win win for them, they do the right thing AND get great press.

Bj Baldwin made a post about hooking the guy up with wheels/tires/light bars to show his appreciation. This story is just all around awesome.

So cool on Toyota’s part, they certainly didn’t have to do that, but it’s a really nice gesture as well as great PR. That truck saved those people from certain death, so good to see good people doing everything they can to save others.
