I was thinking earlier about what is the most useful class I ever took during my academic career (which was lengthy...I am 10 years removed from a PhD in chemistry).

I would have to say one class that stands out is typing. So important in todays world. But I never tested myself before today. I found a website that will test this for you...

    https://www.livechatinc.com/typing-speed-test/#/

I tried 10 times and my best was 43 wpm with 93% accuracy. I thought I would be better. I found that I could get better numbers if I slow down and improved my accuracy. I think I am actually faster in normal typing where I don't have to read as well though...such as crafting this post.

What was the most influential or most important class you ever took, and how fast can you type? I am also interested in how fast people can type with respect to what job they have. There must be some sort of correlation.

First try was 47 wpm with 98% accuracy, apparently. Never learned correct hand placement, now it's been years of quick jabs.

EDIT - apparently that's not horrible, I thought for sure it was horrible.

I’ll have to do this next time I get my laptop open. I think I’m
    Probably between 60-80 wpm.

Going to open laptop now, as curiousity has peaked.
