Hey Guys, Mike Tomczyk here with Exit Offroad.

A lot of you know that we have been working on snorkel R&D for 5th Gen 4Runners, as well as 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacomas for the past 2 years. We finally have them arriving by the end of this month (November 2018), so now it's time to share the news with everyone.

Link to order the snorkel is here: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...-tacoma-2005-to-2015-for-v6-and-4cyl-engines/

UPDATE: Snorkel Template was updated in early 2021. Follow the instructions step by step and you won't have a problem. You think you're following the steps, but many of you are not. DO NOT DRILL ANY HOLES UNTIL YOU HAVE MATCHED YOUR TEMPLATE UP WITH THE SNORKEL BODY. This is a step in the instructions that many of you are missing!! PUT THE STUDS IN THE SNORKEL BODY, MARKS THE ENDS WITH A PAINT PEN AND PUT THE TEMPLATE AGAINST IT TO GET THE HOLE ALIGNMENT CORRECT!!!

@YotaSavage has been running our first off-tool sample since Spring this year with out any issues. Check out his most recent photo here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpzxsR5haWM/ and also here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpNUnrwBlIO/

We did our best to keep the snorkel as close to the body as possible without reducing the airflow, and also keeping our classic snorkel head on the top to keep wind noise down. We are also super happy to offer these at really great pricing to start with.

**Fitment update 12/4/18** - Thanks to @cllowe24 it fits the 4cyl models as well with no modifications required.

    Common FAQ's:
    1. Yes, you have to drill several holes and one large hole for the snorkel to mount, but the good news is, if you ever decide to remove it, you can buy a new fender and patch the holes on the A-pillar for the supporting bracket.
    2. Yes, it's made in China.
    3. Yes, it's upwards of half the price of the current market offerings.
    4. Yes, Dobinsons does make snorkels and have been for about 12 years now, but to date it's been mostly for Land Cruisers and international vehicles not sold in the USA.
    5. No, a snorkel does not increase your horsepower. It can keep your air filter cleaner though, since dust has weight and stays closer to the ground, so using a raised air intake generally brings in less dust/dirt.
    6. Yes, it does require the original non-TRD airbox and OE sized filter (you can use a performance filter if you want).
    7. No, it does not come with it's own air filter. It just raises the point at which the air intake comes into the air box, and the further away from the ground/road, the cleaner and cooler it gets.
    8. Fits V6 and 4Cyl engines

    Nice! Very nice aesthetics.

Will it stay plain or will a massive logo be printed on it?

Edit: also I assume there is a template to help with install....is it shitty like the other company’s offerings, or true to install? Lol.

If I wasn't gonna do fiberglass in the future I would be all over this. Amazing price, really like the look of it without any logo.

I like the price point and have the 2TR-FE, I would consider this ASAP.

I just wish this was posted 2 weeks ago when I blew my Rod and Main Bearings going through the Fn mud pit at Hungry Valley..... This literally would have been an engine saver....

Not sure yet bud. I know some earlier 4cyl Toyota's used the same air intake as the V6, so hopefully that would be the case with this gen of Tacomas. Does anyone else know to chime in?

Either way, it would fit the body correct, might just have to adapt it to the 4cyl airbox, if it's different.

hahahahah. It will be plain, exactly like the photo.

Yes, will come with template and instructions. Here's my quick and dirty "how to install a snorkel" instructions.

    1. Remove inner fender liner and factory airbox to gain all the access you'll need. Removing the wheel and setting on a jack stand helps a lot too!!
1a. Make a copy of the template!!! If you screw yours up, or ever need to install it on another vehicle, you'll have a copy.
    2. Take snorkel, install studs into the back of the snorkel and loosely press-fit the template onto back of snorkel to verify the hole and stud placement with the actual snorkel. This is where having a 2nd template helps a hell of a lot.
    3. Attach template to body and line it up, drill holes, paint holes, bolt up snorkel.
    4. Attach hose from snorkel to airbox.
    5. Call your wife and neighbors to show them what you just did.

Link to order is here: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...-tacoma-2005-to-2015-for-v6-and-4cyl-engines/
